Fridrich method
The CFOP method (Cross – F2L – OLL – PLL), sometimes known as the Fridrich method, is one of the most commonly used methods in speedsolving a 3×3×3 Rubik's Cube. This method was first developed in the early 1980s combining innovations by a number of speed cubers.
The method bases on a layer-by-layer system. It is one of more popularity method of Rubik's Cube solving.
This method includes 4 stages:
- The Cross. At this stage you need to solve a start cross on the one side of cube.
- F2L - First Two Layers. At this stage you need to solve the first two layers of Rubik's cube. There are 42 standard cases and situations.
- OLL - Orienting of the Last Layer. This stage includes making the top layer so that all the pieces therein have the same colour on top. There are 57 algorithms.
- PLL - Permuting the Last Layer. Finally, have to permuting last cubes into their correct positions. There are 21 algorithms.
Bad news: Most of these algorithms need to be learned and memorized.
Good news: some of these algorithms are easy to remember, and some are intuitive and don't need to be memorized.
